🐕 Start your training in environments with minimal distractions, this can be in your living, kitchen or even bathroom. This will set your dog up for success and mean they will get lots of reinforcement for the correct behaviour, before increasing the challenges.
🐕 Use a harness and a flat collar to discriminate to your dog, when they are required to walk on a loose lead and when they are able to investigate the environment freely. This will give your dog clarity and help them succeed.
🐕 Keep your session short and sweet. When learning, little and often but a few minutes at a time is best practice. This keeps the success rate up and prevents the dog losing interest.
